Complementary means "complementing something else", "in addition to ...". Not to be confused with Complimentary, which means "free of charge". To become an Acupuncture Physician we have to go through a 4 year Master's program after going to college. In addition to that, National boards have to be passed in Acupuncture Foundations, Acupuncture and Point Location (including extensive knowledge on safety issues) and Biomedicine, which includes Western Medical Knoweldge and Pharmacology. We as APs have spend a lot of years, energy, effort and money to accumulate the best possible knowledge to be used for your benefit.
